Domain two entails the classroom environment. One of the crucial parts of Mrs. McCollum’s job is creating a safe and respectful classroom environment among all of her kindergarteners. Students are encouraged to play and share with one another throughout the day. I feel that this is something that is crucial to a respectful environment because students must know that they can rely on their classmates. I feel that her style intertwines well with mine because I also want my students to want to be a respectful community/family. McCollum has a magnificent management style because she allows students to talk when they work, yet she does not need to yell to get their attention. Throughout class she maintained participation by asking interesting questions. She made sure to use equitable distribution to make all her students feel included. This also helped made all students aware that they needed to pay attention because the teacher might call on them. When she called on them, and they did not know the answer, she prompted them to the right answer. Sometimes she reworded the question to make sure they understood what was being asked. In addition, she maintained participation by using positive reinforcement and making the students feel good when they answered something good. When they said the word in the correct order she gave them a high five, this positive reinforcement gave them the encouragement they needed to keep participating in the lesson. This was also a form of feedback to the student regarding instruction. The disciplinary measure Mrs. McCollum uses is the clipboard chart. First, the teacher gathem a warning once. When the students did not respond to the warning, the teacher clipped them down. However, throughout class time they had an opportunity to clip up if they behaved well. At the end of the day the teacher wrote on their take-home folders what color they were on that way their parents knew of their behaviors that
