Othello is a Moorish prince that lived in Venice, as an Ambassador of the Moors. Othello was appointed general in the Venetian Army. Othello had promoted Cassio to the position for lieutenant which Iago wanted. Iago started to hate Othello for giving Cassio the position. Iago wanted to seek revenge and became very jealous when it comes to Cassio. Iago was really good at manipulating, he takes advantage of Roderigo. Officer Iago tricks him into believing his wife Desdemona is having an secret affair with his Lieutenant, Cassio. Othello was sent off to defend the island of Cyprus. Of course Desdemona agreed to help Cassio to get his position back and speak to Othello about it. Desdemona believe Cassio is a loyal friend to Othello. Iago brought Othello to show him that Cassio had sneak off alone to talk to Desdemona. Iago had completely showed Othello that his wife has some type of connection with Cassio. Desdemona went to speak with Othello to give Cassio his position back. Othello told Desdemona that he will soon give him his position back but now sure when. Iago shows up and notice that something is up with Othello’s mind and he tries to make him speak his mind. Iago tries to warn Othello that he should be very careful with Desdemona because it was quite obvious that she is being unfaithful to him with Cassio. He states that Cassio knows her and had delivered messages between her and Othello when they were getting to know each other. Iago had brought up that Desdemona had definitely fooled her father when she first fell in love with Othello and claim she is a good liar. He warns Othello to be careful and not to be very jealous because they aren’t completely sure about her being unfaithful. Othello starts to feel insecure because he is black, getting old, and not a smooth talker and feels that she losing interest. Roderigo had attack him but his sword wasn’t able to pierce Cassio coat. Cassio manage to stab Roderigo and Iago came from behind to stab Cassio’s leg and runs away. Roderigo and Cassio are shouting in pain so Lodovico and Graziano came. Iago acts like he was just arriving and stabs Roderigo to death. Othello told Desdemona to pray and to be ready for when he kills her, she tries to talk some sense into him and explaining thats she didn’t do anything wrong. Othello smothers her with a pillow until she died, Emilia came in to inform him about the attack on Cassio and find Desdemona dead. He admits to killing his own wife to Emilia, Desdemona than wake up to tell Emilia that she killed herself and Othello had nothing to do with it. Emilia started to defend Desdemona that she wasn’t having an affair, Othello than told her that Iago, her husband, had told him about Desdemona being unfaithful. Emilia exposes Iago for making up whole up the whole story, Iago got mad at Emilia than stab her for exposing him and he tries to escape. They arrested Othello and he stabs himself with a weapon he had hidden and commits suicide to be with Desdemona, they caught Iago and took him away to be torched while Cassio becomes governor of Cyrus.
