Romeo recently killed Tybalt who murdered Mercutio. Romeo has been exiled by the prince. In Act 3 scene 2, Juliet and her nurse are informed of this incident and are in Juliet’s bedroom weeping. Juliet is upset because of her cousins death and the nurse informs Juliet that “Tybalt is gone and Romeo banished”((III.ii.75). Juliet then replied with a monologue about Romeo.
Juliet’s initial reaction when she receives the news of Tybalt’s death was that she thought that Romeo killed Tybalt. 3. Not only does this bring her vision of everyone facing an untimely end into the realm of possibility, it also reveals that this could occur at any moment, with the prince as the authoritative figure, he recognizes the ongoing feud and is taking action to try and end it. Juliet is represented as a quiet, and obedient, girl who shows maturity beyond her age. She develops from a naïve girl who is dependent on her family to a woman who is self-assured, loyal and capable. In this scene, the nurse confuses Juliet and she is distraught when she thinks that Romeo is dead. She finally realises that Romeo has killed Tybalt and expresses her distress at Tybalt’s death by the man she loves.

From Tybalt’s death, Juliet has become very conflicted at the fact that her lover would commit such a vile act. But because of the love that he bears for Romeo, she all so tries to justify his actions. And from all the grief she experienced during this time, it was only caused by the death of Tybalt.
After Romeo slays Juliet’s cousin, he is banished from Verona and is forced to leave to another city. Because the friar and Juliet are unable to communicate their plan to the bridegroom due to his absence from the city, Romeo commits suicide thinking that Juliet is dead. After marrying Juliet, Romeo is now related to Tybalt through marriage. Later that day, Romeo is confronted by Tybalt who is looking for a fight. After Tybalt calls Romeo a villain, Romeo states, “Tybalt, the reason that I have to love thee/ Doth much excuse the appertaining rage…” (3.1.58-59).
Love can be deadly. Especially in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, where these two particular individuals can’t share a mutual loving relationship, because of the differences of their community and family. There is much hatred dragging down this love at first sight relationship, in which they have no other choice but to do die with dignity and passion for one another. Although some people believe Romeo, and Juliet have died because of the man that married them, this is not so Tybalt, Juliet’s cousin the one who seeked for conflict and horror, is truly the culprit. The piece states, “Should I speak badly of my own husband? Ah, my poor husband, who will speak well of you when I, your wife of three hours, have been calling you such dreadful names? But why, you villain, did you kill my cousin? Because my villain of a cousin would have killed you, my husband.” This quote tells us how Juliet is fighting herself on who to be mad at Romeo or Tybalt.
She confessed that is wouldn’t say mean things about Romeo because he was going to be her husband. This doesn’t change Juliet’s thoughts about Romeo. Juliet even tells the nurse. That she is not going to stop loving the Romeo for his mistakes (Shakespeare 757). Romeo did not want to kill Tybalt, but Tybalt wanted to fight Romeo because he came to the Capulet party and was not invited.

Romeo is extremely lovesick and unsure what to do with himself without Rosaline. But, within a matter of seconds of seeing Juliet he completely forgets about his love and sets himself up on a collision course with disaster. Here Romeo expresses his love for Tybalt due to the fact that Romeo is wed to Juliet, Tybalt’s cousin making him a relative of Tybalt. However, Romeo does not reveal why he loves Tybalt. Mercutio fights for Romeo and is slain by Tybalt and Romeo seeking revenge, murders Tybalt and is banished. Both these events cause other events of poor communication to take place in this chain reaction which leads to the dreadful end of Romeo and Juliet.
