The first cell phone was invented April 3, 1973, by Martin Cooper. It was a very large handheld device called the Motorola DynaTAC 8000X . Since then, technology has changed tremendously. They started out as very large, plain, boxes. Throughout the years cell phones have evolved. They now come in many different shapes, sizes, and colors. From once being large and heavy, to now being able to fit into the pocket of your jeans.Older phones only had keypads, that you had to scroll through to get to the letters needed to send a text.Today they are touch screen and can connect to the internet, and do many other things. The first phone was only for calling. Nowadays you can call, text, take pictures, take and watch videos and play games as well as listen to music.Apps also help in travel, you only have to punch in your destination and you have step by step directions to get you where you need to be.Cell phones can also keep you connected to long distance relatives via social media.
