Knowing my administrative skills would be even more developed in an environment where I would constantly be learning helped me make my final decision. Within the first few weeks of classes beginning, I knew that I had made the right decision. I was enthralled by the law and its all-encompassing nature. I loved reading cases and
The most significant takeaway that I have from this course would be learning information regarding John Rockefeller and Andrew Carnegie. Now, the reasoning behind this is because these two men without a doubt influence the nation more than anyone else during their era and beyond. Furthermore, when looking at each one of these company’s net worth, they easily rival several nations gross domestic profit during this period. Additionally, their businesses employ more people across the country than any other companies of this time. Moreover, once these men reach the pinnacle of the corporate world, each one decides it is time to start giving back to their fellow man.
From this class, I have learned to work with other people, including students and adults, as well as leading a team, creating ideas, and problem
C768 Technical Communication Task 1 Student Name: Thomas Bergland Student Number: 000552658 Degree Program: B.S. Information Technology: Security Student Mentor: Marietta Leonard C768 Technical Communication Task 1 A. Audience Analysis The effectiveness of a technical document or presentation is largely dependent on an accurate analysis of the target audience. By first establishing what type of reader your primary audience contains, you can tailor the level of complexity and detail your document should contain to achieve a maximum effect. If the reader is not given consideration during the planning process, the document may present too narrow or broad of a focus, and therefore, not serve the intended purpose.
CRITICAL INCIDENT ANALYSIS The aim of this report is to reflect about a critical incident that happened during my practice as an anaesthetic nurse trainee using the Gibbs reflective model (1988), which is one of the models that suits better in healthcare settings. This critical incident fits perfectly with the description made by Benner (1984) in a way that promotes nursing care with a substantial difference on the patient outcome. A critical reflection framework is a learning method that promotes a critical thinking from the past with consequent actions in the future, highlighting behaviors, assumptions and views.
This course will show videos on just about everything when it comes to being a better college student. I have learned about reading and writing strategies also. Watching the videos provided on Blackboard helped me because I am mainly a visual learner, for all you visual learners out there these videos will help you too. My most significant learning experience from this course would be learning how to do better on my tests. Future students, just breathe and relax when taking tests, if you fail there is always a way to do better.
What insights have I gained about research from taking this course? The insights I have achieved, there are different methods in constructing a research study I understand more in doing a research exploration, my mentor kept asking me if I had completed the research required for projects for my classroom. I did not understand what was a real research study or someone writing a story from their experiences. I now understand how to look for research studies conducted by researchers.
This program has given me the skills I need to adapt to new problems that I would not have anticipated the day before and to have a strong work ethic. Through this group project and the numerous assignments I've had throughout college, I've improved my time-management abilities and learned how to set priorities more effectively. Not only from the coursework but also from the connections to Christ made in
I have taken away many useful strategies and information from the College 101 class I took this summer. This course has given me enough information to help me feel confident that I will be successful in the rest of my highschool experience and my future college experience. This course has given me skills that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Learning to study properly, avoid procrastination, and take notes correctly has been something that has already helped me tremendously. It has helped me feel less stressed on a day-to-day basis as well as improving my school work quality.
Starting off the year, I was and still am, very intimidated of a college level writing course. Since it was an engineering based writing class, my worries eased up a bit. When I attended the first class I didn’t know anything over the technical communication writing style. Slowly I developed an understanding over the writing style by reading the text book and other supplemental readings. When our group (Construction Management and Nursing) was assigned with the first group project, I was able to apply what I’ve learned so far in the class.
If I say that we all are irrational, some of you might defend me say that not all are irrational. But I can prove that all of us have unintentionally been an part of irrational decision making, like not wearing vehicle seat belt because you thought it might spoil your amazing outfit, smoking and drinking alcohol, poor financial decision (buying unnecessary items), not attending a lecture or class, and many more. In a survey conducted in Manhattan 50% of the people had purchased an umbrella for a very high price on rainy day from street vendor. Moreover, 77% of the people said they would purchase an umbrella for a high price on a rainy day if it were necessary. However, 90% of the people will not buy the same umbrella for even half the price if it was a sunny day (Summer, 2012).
Now I know this may have a large impact on how people think and behave. If I would re-do that portfolio assignment, I would definitely focus on that aspect since that results in a more in-depth view. By reading through the course material and attending the lectures, I became more cultural relativistic as before I compared everything to my own culture. I have learned how to observe every culture on its own. Furthermore, I have acquired knowledge and gained emic, which importance besides etic constructs has been exposed to me (Helfrich 1999).
Through this course I’ve learned skills of how to lead and work as a unit with others. Also through moving through the ranks and this past year being the Alpha Company commander with the rank of Cadet Captain I learned how to take responsibility of the actions and deeds of my unit and myself. It also helped me to see that being on the top of the food chain with many below you at your command isn’t all fun and games it entails things like knowing if your company’s data is all squared away and if everyone is up to date, if they all have uniforms and if not when will they get them, and if they have them are they wearing them correctly, who's going to promotion board are they ready is their uniform squared away and things like
Taking this class has had a profound impact on me. I have learned how to properly study for a college class. Also, I learned how to effectively communicate and reach out to my professor. This was my first college course which gave me a learning experience about psychology and myself as a student. I have learned how to manage my time, study in ways that are better for me, focus on the task in front of me, and reaching out and taking opportunities.
Do people these days unconsciously make decisions by solely relying on their intuition? Many individuals tend to go after their instincts while others build their point of view based on factual evidence. In other words, some people trust their intuition which can easily be manipulated by misleading evidence and unsupported data. On the contrary, others tend to follow information backed up with solid evidence and reject unnecessary information that may cloud a person’s judgement. Additionally, through research and experience it has been proven that choices are best made when supported by evidential confirmation.
