Applied Analysis of the socialisation of physical education teachers in the digital age
In regards to Foucault in his poststructuralist position by critiquing society as a whole instead of just being post-modernist and deconstructing individual components there is a strong similarity to the education system with the national curriculum and Ofsted and how they work to assess schools in which they do not assess individual teachers they in fat assess the school as a whole. Coupled with his application of the panoptican one could say that it has strong applications to how the digital age has affected the socialisation of physical education teachers.

As teaching is a day today profession the knowledge of constant surveillance ensures that standards must be adhered to at all times with no relent or slip in standards.
Whilst conducting this case study it was found that the digital age has greatly affected the socialisation of teachers and therefor the professional practice. However surprisingly it was found that the influence of the digital age had a domino effect as teachers who were not directly affected by the digital age developed their professional practice by the socialisation of other professionals like colleagues, mentors or school policy. This is eloquently illustrated by Coackley and Pike (2009) define socialisation as “a course of education and communal expansion which happens when we interact with one another and become acquainted with the social environment in which we live in”. However this process was identified as not actually occurring until teacher undertook teacher training with pre teacher training
