Have you ever just been so stressed out from school and wish you could just have a break, but winter break or spring break seem SO far away? Well, if you feel like this, year-round school might be a good option for you. Some people believe that year-round school should be required. However, others think that it is not beneficial. Year-round school should be required because YRE multi-track calendars can enroll more students, it increases retention, and stress is minimized.

First, year-round schools that use YRE multitrack calendars can enroll more students. In the article Year-Round School Pros and Cons, it states that “According to the California Department of Education, using a multitrack year-round calendar can allow a school to enroll up to 50 percent more students,” (Watson, 1). This means that if a district is getting bigger and they don’t have enough money to build another school, more kids can go to school when using the YRE multitrack calendar.
