School is something that most students dredd, waking up early, spending 8 hours learning, and not getting enough breaks or sleep. Many people over the years have debated whether or not school should be year round. School should be year round because it can help prevent student and teacher burnout, along with reducing class sizes and overcrowding of classrooms.
Year round schooling is very beneficial to students and teachers. With year-round schooling, it can help prevent student and teacher burnout which is a major problem in schools. Being in year round school allows students and teachers to have more relaxation time since they have longer breaks in between quarters to relax and have fun. These breaks are very beneficial to the students and teachers because during the quarters you don’t get a lot of time to relax or decompress, but with year round school it gives you a three week break that could help decrease the chances of burnout. Another reason why year round school can help prevent burnout is the breaks also allow for more time to rest and recover from the quarter which could cause a lot of stress on your body and brain reducing burnout. While school is year round, they stagger the students’ schedules so they can reduce overcrowding in the classrooms. When they stagger the schedules it allows students to have more time to be in other classes and reducing the number of students in that class which is very beneficial to prevent overcrowding. In the passage “Year-Round Education: A Strategy for Overcrowded Schools” it states “More students can fit into existing buildings, saving millions on construction costs,”. With this information it shows us how when students do year round school they are able to use more buildings which is beneficial to the economy because it’s saving money on construction
