There are also self report, yes or no, and multiple choice questions included. Previous researches showed that poor time management and organizational skills were a factor in why students are stressed in college. A lot of the researches used the likert scales, self report, and a few of them did observational studies. This study uses the self report and likert scales to find out why students are stressed and getting the information from the source is more
In my 2 years of going here, I have noticed students on the verge of crying because they’re so stressed out with all the work they have and late papers. I believe the teachers are also unstable because as the exams and SOL’s get closer, teachers give out more work and get over
I’ve realized that I am a much more productive student when I’m not stressed. I get better results with the same input--by not panicking; thus maximizing my learning potential. My easygoing nature facilitates efficiency, and it will prove to be an advantageous quality in college, my future career, and my personal relationships.
Alonzo I think everyone who took this class was stressed out. Even if a student used their time wisely, the workload could take a toll on their health. Not only are students vulnerable to anxiety and depression by the time they graduate, but also hopelessness as well (Leibow, 2010). I noticed that by spending time with positive people, for example, it has provided me with the mental support that is needed to be successful in college.
The toddler class I did my observation was in Clark Collage. The environment was very child friendly. Most of the stuff was at children’s eye level. There was soft music playing in the background. Teacher told us that they have special music for napping and playing /learning.
Letting these men experience something totally out of the normal for them was probably the best decision that they could have made. This changed the group as a whole because they all got much closer. They realized
My first objective was to observe and possibly lead weekly 5&5 groups and get feedback from the supervisors. Having the opportunity in leading 5&5 has been an incredible experience. During 5&5 groups the residents sit down at five-o-clock and write for a half an hour they write five; things they are grateful, feelings, things what they are working on, and affirmations. When it is five-thirty I begin group by asking who would like to start sharing their 5&5s. When the first person begins, they share what they are grateful for, feelings, and go down the list.

On Thursday October 22, I went with Sarah Pritt to recruit participants for her math-science anxiety research project. Sarah is a graduate student here at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, who is part of Dr. Roehrich’s research group. She hoped to recruit male participants who are planning on teaching math to elementary students. Last time the study was ran, the results were significant representing that math and science anxiety does exist and gender plays a role. However, this time around they hoped to add more men to their population size in order to strengthen the results.
Students were asked why they thought they would do this activity if the group was discussing different forms of family. Students were able to articulate that the human knot symbolized a family that was changing and struggling; however, it remained a family throughout. The students also discussed how communication was key to achieving their goal, just like in a family. For the main activity, students were asked to draw Family Portraits (Simmonds, 2006, p. 18).
Their observation shows there was a pervasive feeling of hostility in the classroom and disagreeing, interruptions and role-switching dominated group
When going through the website I looked for similar pictures to compare. These two pictures stood out to me because they both had a single tree in them and they both also have one single building structure in the image. It interested me that these kids also chose similar colors and similar media in their drawings. But with all the similarities there are still may differences. I chose these pictures because even though they are at different developmental stages they have both, common traits and different traits in each of the pictures.
Watching People Talk. Watching and listening to people while talking it was a really difficult thing to do for my self, I am not an observant person and I never pay attention to what others talk about unless they are talking to me I feel awkward looking to someone or listening to his or her conversation, but with this research I learned that sometimes can be fun or even helpful. I decide to start this observation while I was outside a restaurant in the shopping center in Alosta Ave. on Friday around 2:30 pm. It was busy people going and coming and the restaurant had light music I was working with my individual that I help, we where waiting for our transportation sitting on the tables outside the restaurant when I heard 2 women behind me talking loud at first I thought they where fighting but them when I stared to put attention I notice they were saying Hi like they haven’t seen each other in a long time they both used phrases like “Where have you been”, “ and how is the family” I heard chairs moving and then one of them asked the other how
In college, students experience a great deal of stress for the first time in their lives. In the past, they experienced little stresses that came with growing up, but now they experience stress from the real world and it can be overwhelming. The stress in college is more serious than any they had experienced prior because it is a time that will define the rest of their lives. For many, this is the first time getting a loan, the first time having to care for themselves, the first time studying for massive exams, and the first time that their decisions will affect the rest of their lives. The main types of stress college students experience are financial stress, parental stress, class stress, social stress, and self-invoked stress.
