I was born Kayla Anne Pray at Grayling Mercy Hospital. I grew up in Roscommon, which is a small town in northern Michigan. My parents too were from Roscommon and met when they were in high school and conceived me at the age of 19 and 22. Though they split up when I was 4 years old, I still went on as a cheerful little girl and saw both parents equally. My mother met my stepdad shortly after, and things went downhill from there. He was very manipulative and verbally abusive and had a huge drinking problem which caused him and my mother to constantly fight. It was to the point where I was too embarrassed to have my friends or boyfriend over because of his constant aggression and idiotic behavior. Soon it got to the point where my grandparents thought it was best that I went and stayed with them for a while until things got better. At first I did not like living with my grandparents, they were strict and did not let me do as much as my mother would allow me to, but I got used to it and realized it was for the best. My family was Christian so we went to church frequently and for almost every holiday. High school is where things kind of got better for me. I moved back in with my mom and stepdad and had a little brother on the way. But shortly after he was born my mother felt she had enough with my stepdad and moved on her own, which showed to make her a lot happier. I played quite a few sports throughout high school including, basketball during the winter, soccer in the spring along with track, and cross country in the summer. I would have considered myself “popular” in high school, but I had many different friends from different groups. I played in concert band along with marching band and loved it just as much as sports. When school wasn’t going on me and my friends loved hanging out at the beach. Higgins Lake was the place to be in summer time, and one of the top 10 beautiful lakes in Michigan, so a lot of other people from other places did
