I have put how my writing has changed over this semester, what I have learned about my writing abilities, what I am most proud of this semester, what struggles I encountered, what actions I took to improve, how I will apply this in other classes, and apply these methods in the future into consideration while I was reflecting on this semester. I realized that I have learned many new concepts that helped develop me as a writer.
In my own time, I started to write with more punctuation, and more sophisticated language while I was texting, on social media, and sending an email. I have expanded my vocabulary by looking up synonyms to words in my essays. I also have learned to enjoy writing, even if it is for a short period time or a long period of time. For example, I never wrote to a certain audience before, and now I can choose my audience as I please, and if I do not want that audience anymore, all I have to do is go back and change it. I have put many hours into writing this semester and I have learned that writing for a certain period of time works best for me. I used to struggle for hours writing papers that were 3-4 pages long, now I can write them in a couple hours. When I write for a long period of time, I start to lose my train of thought and it is hard for me to keep going. When I take breaks in between writing, I found that it is easier to come up with fresh ideas and concepts. I also learned many new concepts that I have never heard prior to this class. For example, I never been able to write a good introductory paragraph before, and now I left the audience wanting more.
