The Martian Chronicles begins in a very strange place, which happens to be upon the planet of Mars. A Martian couple is quarreling about a dream the wife had. She had a dream of men coming in a rocket and taking her hand. The husband finds this very strange indeed. There is a bizarre mixture of cooking utensils and unimaginable items inside the Martian’s home. Long afterwards, a crew of men lands on Mars and goes about seeking the welcome of the Martians. They are thought to be insane and put in a nut house. A “psychiatrist” sees the men, convinced that they are hallucinating, and that their rocket is false. He ends the lives of the Earth men, and then ends his own. In the next expedition, a crew of men lands on the other side of Mars, unexpectedly finding their own home town, also containing once-dead relatives. They are welcomed, celebrated, fet, and put to bed. The captain wonders if the Martians had made everything up in order to have an opportunity to kill them, and he was right. An expedition later starts with yet another crew of men. They land on a cold, dreary night. Some party, but one man is quiet. He finds the partying and noise to be a travesty in the midst of those who once were. He leaves the company, only to come back and kills his …show more content…

It is far more bizarre than I ever could have imagined. I predict that the people of Earth will never successfully establish colonies on Mars. I also predict that they will continue to try, only to be continually slaughtered. Also, I predict that the Martians will make contact with Earth and its inhabitants. The Martians are extremely mysterious and strange, but not in a good way. I cannot fathom the imagination, or the insanity, that it took to dream up something like this. Every single expedition so far has failed miserably and tragically, and I predict that they will get progressively worse and more traumatising. I cannot predict any further, for there is no real plot to
