Mass Media is the source of communication that takes place and provides information to a large audience. Although mass media really made its major breakthrough in the late 20th century, it has hugely grown and continues to only expand with major developments through the 21st century.
A lot of the developments that emerged in the evolution of mass media during the last century were connected to where we obtained our news source. As technology began to grow and expand so did mass media. Television programs such as MTV and VH1 really grasped the attention of young adults through contribution of pop culture and world news. . More people began to gain more knowledge and interest about what was going on in the world and society because they no longer had to read through newspapers or watch news programs that bored them. Programs with colors and entertainment distilled interest in more people, especially the younger audience.
Media convergence is defined as the change that occurred in the past and continues to occur within media content and media companies. Media convergence relates to technological merging, for instance, with the evolvement of technology now days, we’re able to access media through gadgets such as laptops, tablets and smartphones which require the usage of internet.
