The Possible Causes Of Climate Change

1268 Words6 Pages

Climate refers to all weather events in an area during a long period of time. It is the long-term manifestation of weather and other atmospheric conditions in a given area. When talking of weather we refer to the condition of the air that surrounds the Earth. The weather may be hot or cold, cloudy or clear even windy or calm. Scientists say that every area has its own climate therefore to determine the climate of an area, weather patterns have to be observed daily over a period of years. Climate change therefore, is the change in the weather patterns due to an increase in the earth’s average temperature. It is also called Global Warming.

After the manifestation of more industries, which are human activities, climate change escalated in an awful manner. Human causes of climate change include deforestation which is the cutting down of trees therefore leading to the imbalance of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere thus the heating of the earth. Other activities include excess use of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), pollution and the emission of toxic gases into the atmosphere. Global Warming.
Over years, research shows that climate change is rapidly occurring and it is becoming hazardous to living matter. This is because climate change can result in desertification, droughts, rise in sea levels leading to overflowing, contamination of fresh water and extinction. Desertification is the process of becoming a desert, mostly due to deforestation and soil erosion. Looking at the Sahel in Africa, which is on the Southern edges of the Sahara Desert, there is very little rainfall there and very dry winds all year long (Via-Africa 2012) Countries in the Sahel have experienced droughts for a longer time which makes living difficult. The Earth is gradually degrading and life on earth, which is the planet most suitable for life, is becoming difficult by day. Studies show that scientists try discovering the planet suitable for living but they clearly state that migrating there will take years and it will be expensive therefore this research is to try awakening occupants of the earth to at least respect and sustain the remaining piece. Apparently, the most influential way to limiting the adverse impact of climate change on the environment is sustaining agricultural practices. By sustaining agricultural practices we refer to practising good agriculture. No monoculture, no overuse of pesticides but crop rotation and trying out mechanical fight against pesticides which include introducing a natural enemy to the side.
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

The above graph shows the influence in which nature and human activities had on the change in the global temperature over a period of hundred years. The slope clearly shows that before the industrial era the increase in global temperatures was a little less rapid as compared to after the industries manifested.
From the above graph, it can be concluded that the usage of most technology makes life easier and faster but it is dooming and damaging our environment.
