Throughout history, the American Continental Army was depicted as strong, dominant, and filled with perseverance, however it appears as though their strength was missing at the Battle of Quebec. The Battle of Quebec occurred on December 31, 1775 and lasted until January 1, 1776. It was a battle in which the Province of Quebec was covered in the same red as the victors’ coats. The attempt to capture Quebec concluded in a disastrous defeat for the Americans that was due to factors such as disparities in the level of experiences between the leaders, the disproportion of armies, freezing weather, weapons/fortification, and challenging terrain. The Battle of Quebec was a battle of great significance as it was “the first major war defeat for the
People are often think of themselves and base their actions on what would harbor the best outcomes for them. It is rare in which people would go out of their way to help other even when it won’t harm them to do so. Therefore, it goes to show, based on that pattern, that the
People who don’t help others should be punished because they don’t fulfill their ethical responsibility and someone could lose their life because of it. If we see someone who needs help, do we stop? There is so much suffering and poverty out there. In the article “ Can the law make us be decent” by Jay Sterling Silver, the author have talked about how oblivious people should get punished for not required to do anything to help when someone is in danger. People should be punished for not assisting others in an emergency because someone life will be at risk if there’s no help.

What character qualities do you think exemplify an NHS member? How do you personally exemplify these qualities? Give specific examples. Character qualities that I think exemplify a National Honor Society member are treating everyone as equals no matter your own personal preferences, wanting to further your education not only for grades, and exceeding in your ambitions even with extreme setbacks and struggles. The word “help” is a very complicated yet simple word. According to the Learner’s Dictionary, the definition of help is: to do something that makes it easier for someone to do a job, to deal with a problem, to aid or assist someone. Helping someone sounds like an easy job, and most of us would agree that we would help people anytime anywhere, but it always doesn’t turn out that way.
