Human Trafficking Published in July of 2011, authors Baldwin, Eisenman, Sayles, Ryan, and Chuang published their journal titled Identification of Human Trafficking Victims in Health Care Settings. Within this journal, the authors conducted a study to research how human trafficking victims are treated within the United States health care setting. This study was conducted using a qualitative research method. Additionally, in another article published in 2016, authors Reid, Baglivio, Piquero, Greenwald, and Epps published their journal titled Human Trafficking of Minors and Childhood Adversity in Florida. Because of its difficulty, there is not much data about the population of youths who are victimized, especially concerning juvenile victims. Majority of trafficking study samples have been from women, girls, and there have only been very few studies where boys were included in the sample as well (citation). The authors supported their study by using improvements from previous studies to conduct this study. For instance, based on reviews from previous studies, researchers have suggested for the use of a more reliable intervention program. Because of that suggestion, these authors provided a clearer description of the youths who were involved in human trafficking by identifying the prevalence of the adverse childhood experiences (ACE) of the sample size and comparing that to the adverse childhood experiences of other youths in another matched sample (citation). The studies cited by these authors were fairly relevant due to the fact that many of their citations came from the past few years. Instead of conducting interviews as in the previous journal, the authors acquired their data through a set of different assessments. The authors took data from a sample of 68,218 youths from the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, and within that sample, 913 youths were identified as human trafficking victims (citation). They used the prevalence of adverse childhood experiences and the cumulative child adversity assessment to see if these scores had an effect on the likelihood of human trafficking.
