If you were to ask someone what comes to their mind when they hear the word slave or slavery they would most likely think about the 17th century, plantations, and the civil war. Slavery is something that is associated with the past. In the world today, slavery is illegal in every country, although it is happening all over the world, right before us every day. It goes by a new name but the concept is the same. Human trafficking needs to come to end. But how can you, one person out of 7 billion people make a difference? It comes to the backdoor of America. In every city in the United States of America there are hotspots for slavery. What are hotspots? Hotspots are particular spots in a city where the volume of trafficking is high. We would assume that the hotspots would be in the rundown bad part of town. And that is very true, but these hotspots are everywhere. In Charlotte, the hotspots are located close to major sporting venues. When a football game, or a major sporting event comes into town, girls from all over the country are transported to Charlotte to provide entertainment for the game. Someone can never assume that their home city or town is free from slavery, it is in every state, every city, and every town of this country. For example there are 1772 know slavery hotspots in America today, over 250 on the east coast and 43 in Atlanta.
Often these victims go unnoticed right before our eyes, forgotten hurting people in the crowd. These human victims could be anyone we know, they could be our neighbor, our coworker’s daughter, or even a innocent girl from our own family. These victims are hurting and often hopeless. Many are fatherless girls, or orphans. Often women are widows with no way to support themselves. They are hungry for
