The first example would be that the author says that Conney died but it really means that he got striked out of the game. Also he means that Cooney was'nt to good. He also says that to show that they were'nt doing to good and they needed help to win. Last example is that Casey made everyone think he was'nt going to miss but he ends up missing it anyways.
