Tekel: An Investigation of Faith When many Christians are young, they think that everyone in the world is a Christian. Because they have mostly grown up around Christian people, they know only Christianity. This can lead to many awkward encounters with those of other faith as the children ask their Muslim friends about their favorite Bible story only to find out that their friend does not believe in the Bible. From that moment on, the children wrestle with the reality that everyone does not share the same experiences with faith as they have. The idea of one’s own experience with faith is expounded upon in the book Litany of Secrets by Luke H. Davis.

Atrial Fibrillation Atrial Fibrillation or Afib Atrial Fibrillation (afib) is a condition in which the atria, two upper chambers of the heart, quiver (or fibrillate) to cause an irregular beat. With the quivering of the atria, blood is unable to push into the ventricles, two lower chambers of the heart, leading to decreased blood flow throughout the rest of the body. Atrial fibrillation is the most common abnormal heart rhythm, affecting an estimated 2.7 million Americans. Men are most at risk, but women die of stroke related complications more often. Though, many of those who diagnosed can go on to live healthy and active lives.
Hg (Lewis, Dirksen, Heitkemper, Bucher, Camera, 2014). Although signs and symptoms of hypertension are not visible, elevated blood pressure is noticed and possible headaches in life threatening situations (Potter, Perry, Stockert, & Hall, 2014). My patient had presented with elevated blood pressure levels, but was controlled with drug therapy throughout the day. Hypertension puts patients at high risk for cardiovascular diseases. Although there are not biological differences amongst races, there are trends amongst races. According to the CDC, “African Americans ages eighteen to forty-nine are two times likely to die from heart disease than whites” (CDC, n.d.). Trends such as this allow healthcare professionals to identify possible risk factors. Race-based medicine also can help identify racial disparities. Focusing in on race also allows communities to see how race can affect factors that in turn affect health.

Introduction This essay will reflect on my personal experience, skills, and knowledge gained from my studies and practice of undertaking blood pressure (Bp) whilst completing my professional placement. Bp may be defined as a force of blood against vessel walls in the body, consisting of systolic and diastolic pressure measured in millimeters of mercury. (Waugh and Grant, 2016) Systolic pressure occurs when the hearts left ventricle contracts and forces blood into the aorta causing a heightened atrial pressure, while diastolic pressure refers to complete cardiac diastole, this is when the aortic valve closes and pressure is at its lowest between beats, blood moves into smaller corresponding vessels and the heart rests.
High blood pressure can also cause damage to the arteries which can lead to arterial disease. The higher the blood pressure is the more risk you have of acquiring heart disease and stroke. This means somebody with a blood pressure of 130/80 mmHg is at greater risk than someone with a blood pressure of 120/70 mmHg. And is the reason it is so important for all to lead a wholesome lifestyle to make sure their blood pressure is as low and as healthy as it can be.
