If you want to become a IT professional, you probably would want to focus on technical knowledge and skills. You would like to learn how to perform tasks and do your work, but you would not probably make any considerations on how these skills may be misused. A good deal of IT professionals does not realize that this profession also includes ethical issues. The biggest part of ethical issues in IT industry involve privacy. If you work as system administrator in company, is it fine for you read private e-mail, check user’s browser history, look at the user’s files? Usually system administrators have access to all this information and these tasks might be part of their job, but should they have the ability to do so? Reading company’s private e-mails may give system administrators a political advantage within the company and he or she can use information from the e-mail to get owner of this e-mail fired or blackmailed. …show more content…

While creating IT security system for one client you might learn a lot of things about this company and this information might affect your other client. Is it all about your loyalty? What if one client asked you to save some money by reducing security measures that you recommend. You know that because of this client’s private information would be at risk. Will you just take money and configure his or her network in less secure manner. Should you decline this job just because you do not want to make low security system, even though your client wants it. Maybe you should take this offer, but make good security measures with no cost to the client? I think it is quite a good example of dilemma in IT
