Identification of personal values and beliefs as a nurse

Every nurse has different perception regarding values and beliefs toward patients care as a nurse. Being a nurse represents patient care to be based on empirics which means the science of nursing and is achieved through theory and research. Nursing as an empirical or science concentrates on serving the necessities of human as a biopsychosocial and spiritual being (Carper 1987). Its practice requires logical learning, as well as relational, scholarly and specialized capacities and abilities (Kourkouta, L. and Papathanasiou, I.V., 2014). The other important quality of nurse is to be ethically sound. She should provide care that should include the moral obligation, rights, and commitments. Doing means providing effective care by using esthetics and personal knowledge. Carper(1978) defines aesthetics pattern of knowing as an art of nursing that involves empathy, creativity, and experience. Creativity is intrinsic in the exploration of the different result, compliance to complex health care setting and build up quality nursing care (Chan 2013). We can apply different creative techniques in the care of patients, for example, I used to provide health teaching to patient by using flow charts, showing posters and communicate with my patient with a graceful and polite manner and listen to them patiently that helped to develop strong interpersonal and intrapersonal relationship within myself and with patient.
