The illustrator of this image is seriously brilliant, in the place they chose for each person inside and outside the vehicle. In this illustration, the artist's purpose is to inform the audience of the dangers of distracted driving and to make them think of both sides of the situation before picking up the phone while driving. The image is impactful, yet conveys the message that the illustrator is trying to get across. Life can stop in just a moment; Is the call worth your child's or someone else's child's life? Keep your eyes on the road and think of both sides! The illustrator of this image shows a child in the back seat, busy parents not paying attention to the road as they run over another child. IMPACT! A Mass Majority of people are killed in the world every day because they simply cannot keep their eyes on the road. Distractions of everyday life while driving are the cause of many loved ones not with us today. The illustrator uses dull colors without the picture to portray the “setting” of the illustration and get the audience to feel sad. The only thing that is really “colorful” in the picture are the words “Think of Both Sides”. This was put onto the illustration with all intentions of being impactful. The author illustrates this placing the baby in the back and the kid in the front (being ran over) to show that there are two sides to every situation. The illustrator wants the audience to think clearly about both sides of the situation. The first being that the parents in the vehicle were so distracted that they probably didn’t even see the child in front of their vehicle.
