Abortion has been apart of the American culture for many years now. Abortion is considered to be know for, when someone ends the pregnancy early by removing the unborn fetus. In today’s day and age there is about 44 million abortions performed annually. Many philosophers took a challenge to describe if abortion was ethical or not. However, multiple philosophers provided their opinionated feedback so it would be hard to examine all theories. So we are going to examine the theories of Immanuel Kant and Thomas Aquinas.

To me it is not about rather abortion is moral or not, but rather the facts on what the mother or family is going through when they make the decision to have an abortion. I would have to agree with Augustine’s view on the morality of abortion because; if the baby has no soul it would not affect the baby to kill it. I would have to say that Kant’s view on abortion would be the one I agree with the least because it has no significant importance. I say this because; if someone wanted to kill their baby let them do it that would be between them and God. We as people cannot say who is a murderer and who is not only God has the power to do that. We as people also do not know what that person is going through to decide to have that abortion. What if that person is homeless, in college, or has HIV? Would we still say that abortion is murder? The United States has way to many people on government assistance programs; these are programs that help when the family cannot take of their family without assistance. To me many people on these programs are firm believers that abortion is wrong, but what is seen as wrong is a person having to many babies that they cannot take care of. This is why I find Kant’s view on abortion the least influential because many loopholes can be found within his
