Using technology can increase our access to information, improve teaching efficiency and can make learning more enjoyable. At the ASMS we use technology to enhance our learning during school assignments ad tasks. Maths and Abstract Thinking, a central studies topic, gave me the opportunity to use technology to create a company log during a functions and graphs folio task. Using GeoGebra , mathematical software, and my knowledge around functions and graphs I created a logo for a self-created business ‘Ashley Platt’s Delectable Delights’ (see figure 1). Using technology allowed me to plot inequalities and line equations, skills gathered during the topic, with ease to create an accurate and unique design that met the requirements of the task.

Explain how this is a good thing and a bad thing. Technology has positive and negative impacts. Technology has improved transportation, education, and communication. Technology has helped advance in different transportation such as road transports used by vehicles, water transports used by submarines and ships, air transports used by airplanes and jets, and space transports used by rockets and satellites. Technology has improved education by allowing more online resources, multimedia learning, tutoring worldwide, studying with others online, editing papers online, and being able to have books of your course in one device.
Graphic designer, Louise Fili, grew up in an Italian-American family in New Jersey and fell in love with the homeland of her parents at the age of 16 years. Since then, her passion for design, typography and Italian food has influenced her career as a designer. During my job shadow with Ms. Eileen Chalupa on Doane’s Campus I learned how to be creative, come up with my own style of graphic designing, and most importantly to never give up or lose hope on a project that someone has asked for. Her job is the head graphic designer at Doane University. Some questions that I asked her during the job shadow were what are some positive aspects and negative aspects of working as a graphic designer, are the hours flexible for the job and another question I asked was what training did she do to get ready for this type of work and if it required any type of education to complete. One of the reasons she chose this career was because her mother went through the desktop publishing program at Southeast Community
Graphic Design has always been an ever evolving and changing field. Graphic design-like activities can be found throughout history like the ancient cave paintings or the manuscript of the Middle Ages. Technology has become a vital asset to the way many people in our society live. From alarms on phones that wake people up in the mornings, to the TVs they watch before bed. In many ways technology has helped the progression in fields such as science and medicine. However as a result of technology there has been setbacks as well as advantages. Books are read on Kindles or iPads, drastically altering the brick-and-mortar landscape of bookstores and libraries. Filmmaking has moved into computer-generated imagery (CGI), a technology that has helped elevate video games into an art form. Some museums are experimenting with crowdsourcing as curatorial strategies, and many more have turned to QR codes, apps, and other online tools as ways to disseminate exhibit information. And, of course, the advent of Twitter, Facebook, and blogs has permanently changed the way stories are told.
"Technology is like art. It is a soaring exercise of the human imagination". Like everything in this world that has its good and bad effects on us, technology does too. How we use technology is important in determining what results it would bring us. Nowadays, technology is heavily used for educational purposes.
In the times of modern design, art and design has already become a part of our life and plays important roles in our society. Design not only decorates our society and living places, but also brings us a well-rounded life and makes our life become more colourful. Design is a great benefit that would not cause any negative issues to our society. So can you imagine how boring and dull will be if does not exist any art and design in our daily life? Can you imagine how our life will be in the future?
