Media Literacy

People who are media literate are better able to understand the complex messages we receive from television, radio, Internet, newspapers, magazines, books, billboards, video games, music, and all other forms of media. Being media literate allows children to read book online instead of having a hard copy of the actual book. Media literacy allows students to gain unlimited amount of information. When a person is media literate they can analyse and compare different types of websites to find the perfect information. It also allows new ways of learning and teaching.

Digital Literacy
This refers to the knowledge, skills, and behaviors used when using digital devices.
People who are digital literate possess a range of digital skills: knowledge of computing devices, the ability to use computers and to engage on social networks, the ability to find and evaluate the information and possesses critical thinking skills.
According to Aviram & Eshet-Alkalai digital literacy includes five types of literacies namely:

• Reproduction literacy
• Branching
• Information
• Socio emotional
