In the book, “Romeo and Juliet”, Romeo bears the tragic flaw of Impulsivity. By being impulsive, Romeo not only causes pain for himself, but for others. For example, Romeo instantly falls in love with Juliet at first sight without getting to know her: the Montague and Capulet families are enemies (Shakespeare pg. ). Another great example of Romeo being an empath is when he makes the decision to kill Tybalt(Shakespeare pg. ).This leads to Romeo being banished from Verona and his mother dying from the grief his exile caused. In addition, Romeo also drank the poison immediately after viewing Juliet’s “death” for himself; however, Juliet didn’t actually die (Shakespeare pg. ).
