It makes me proud when I see the American flag flying in the sky, makes us honor our heroes and sports stars, and it makes us remember the people who fought for the independence of our country. The flag flies tall and proud in so many places across America, the world, and even on the moon. Today, one hundred fifty million flags that are sold per year. The American flag brings together Americans as one united nation. “The American flag, Old Glory, standing tall and flying free over American soil for 228 years is the symbol of our beloved country.
In the movie Flags of Our Fathers, it is based more on the dedication of the fighters. Even though the U.S won the war, there still weren’t that many survivors. Putting up the flag for victory was a big cause of how many of the soon to be survivors were shot to death
The iconic design of the Stars and Stripes on the American flag has been a symbol of hope to every citizen in America since its making. Every time an American citizen sees these stars and stripes, they are reminded of their safe home in the United States of America. Every time a soldier sees the flag, they are reminded of what they are fighting for. They are fighting for the freedom that every citizen in the United States takes for granted, yet they still bravely fight for that freedom. As children, we were taught that Betsy Ross was the woman to thank for the flag that we see today.

On the flag day in chicago there was over 300,00 kids and adults that participated in the celebration. The adults had also participated in the patriotic programs.

Veterans Day has been celebrated for forever, but we never think of it this way because many people believe the first Veterans Day was in 1911. While it is true that “Armistice Day”, which later became know as Veterans Day, began on this day, thereir is much more to Veterans Day than a single date. The true Veterans Day has been celebrated forever without us actually knowing. For heroism, honor, and bravery has been celebrated everyday. Honor can be a hidden dagger as sharp as a razor, especially if honor is held above everything else.

Everyone has something so important to them that they are willing to sacrifice anything for. One eighth-grader strives to get her school’s traditional Veterans Day Ceremony back. Thirteen year old, Katelyn Kurovski found out three weeks ago that her school, Monticello Trails Middle School, might not be doing their traditional Veterans Day Ceremony for 2017. During class on October 30th, her teacher’s phone rang, and the principal of another school asked when their school was celebrating Veterans Day. The class broke out in questions when they overheard the teacher say that they had not seen anything on the calendar for Veterans Day.
These colors are presented everywhere during special American holidays. One of them would be the fourth of July. This is the day America won its independence. During the fourth of July the colors of red, white, and blue are everywhere to represent this amazing event for America. Many people throw parties as well as enjoy some beautiful fireworks.

The flag protest has been a protest existing for a long time but, recently sparked lots of controversy. Although kneeling during the national anthem may seem disrespectful are often seen as a disrespect to the flag and troops, a inefficient way to promote a cause, and anger many people in shows division in the country, it can show that the ideals of freedom is justified, it generates conversation and awareness about topic, and is a legal form of peaceful protest.
Constitution day is about celebrating the constitution and what it stands for. That does not just mean what we interpret it to be now. It means what the founders meant when they forged this document. George Washington said in his farewell address, “interweaving our destiny with that of any part of Europe, entangle our peace and prosperity in the toils of European ambition, rival-ship, interest, humor, or caprice.” This is not what we would think of today, a so called “America first” mindset.
Memorial day, an emotional road for many. This event occurs on every last Monday of May. Memorial is to remember veterans who have been injured or killed in a war. Memorial Day is one of the two days every year used to honor our veterans. Although, the earliest history of Memorial day is somewhat unknown. From a personal experience of my grandfather who was in a grim war was left with horrid memories.
