With my bill The College Help Tax, there is both a negative and positive sides for Texas students and residents. Some of the positive accept of my bill with that 10 % increase every year this would help to lower college tuition for anyone who wanted to attend college. We have to look at the universities themselves and why the tuition keeps getting higher, for example, The University of Texas-Austin. In the 1980’s the state of Texas supported nearly half of the university's budget as of today this is another story the state of Texas now only supports 12% of the universities funding for higher education. With college being so expensive for Texas residents to attend college in the 2012 enrollment in Texas colleges and universities totaled 1,628,583, in 2011 there was 28,996 increase in the 38 public universities this increased by 8,375 students to 600,108 students.
