According to the Texas Tribune website, only 11 percent of all students in Texas able to complete a associate's degree or a two-year degree. The reason that I looked up at the information is because I am moving to Texas next year, and I am continuing on to get my degree. This worries me. Although college is difficult, I will be successful by seeking advice from experts and by developing effective strategies for success. Because I am a first semester student, I know that college will be difficult. Consequently, I also know that I will be facing many challenges. First of all, college is different from high school. Going to college involves big changes, every college student has to pick a major to get into college and to get a degree. Picking a major is intimidating because most students do not know what to expect, but is about taking that first step. Selecting a major is especially difficult for me. My main goal is to try to become an actor, and choosing this as a career involves many steps. Another challenge that I am facing is meeting new people and socializing with others. Having graduated from high school, most of my classmates are gone. Some of my classmates are in my same college, but they have met new people, I cannot because I tend to focus on the same friends from the past, instead of meeting new people now.
