Today I am going to be talking about Streptococcus agalactiae. The Genus of this Bacteria is Streptococcus and the species is Agalactia. This Bacteria is in Kingdom Monera. Kingdom Monera is full of unicellular organisms with a prokaryotic cell organization, such as bacteria. Streptococcus is a bacteria that goes into humans or animals and causes strep. You are able to have strep in different areas of your body. You can have oral strep or you can have vaginal strep. There are two different types of streptococcus. There is group A streptococcus and group B streptococcus. One thing that they have in common is that they can all hurt you, but not all of these bacteria can help you. In Streptococcus things are classified through hemolytic. There are also different types of hemolytic classifications. There is Alpha-Hemolytic, Beta-Hemolytic, and Gamma-Hemolytic. This describe the differences in the blood, the cells, or something else inside of one particular bacteria. Now, earlier I said that there were two different types of Strep, oral strep and vaginal strep, now we need to talk about symptoms that we get from each of these types of strep. For oral strep, the most common symptoms are sore throat, fever, and swollen lymph nodes on the back of the neck. Sometimes, but very rarely there can be complications with the heart or with the kidneys. For vaginal strep the symptoms are commonly fever, breathing problems, blush-colored skin tones, seizures, limpness, stiffness, heart rate abnormailies, blood pressure abnormalities, poor feeding, vomiting, and diarrhea. Now strep throat is extremely popular. Most people get it at least once in their lives if not more. Strep throat doesn't seem to be a very serious
