In Bad Ideas about Writing, Ronald Clark Brooks writes that everyone can be a writer because he believes that everyone’s experiences and perspectives are worth writing about. He expresses his belief that a good writer is not necessarily defined by their credentials or publishings. However, he acknowledges that there is a sort of stigma around writing that may discourage novice writers and offend veteran writers. In Brooks’ essay, he attempts to take an empowering and supportive approach in explaining how anyone can be a writer. He also says that even in writing classes, where there may be more structure and rules to follow for writing, optimism and a positive outlook make all the difference.
In the article "Social Class and Hidden Curriculum", Anyon studies the relationship between the course work and student-teacher interaction in different communities. She looks for evidence to show the difference between schools in poor areas vs areas were people are rich. During the 1978-1979 school year she studied five classes by classroom observation along with interviewing students and facility. After studying each class Anyon classified each class from "work class" to "executive elite schools" depending on what socioeconomic class the community was from. Anyon observed that in the "working class" school teachers tend to focus more on the procedure and on how each assignment relates to real life.

Writing is great until you have to sit down and do it. The sentences never seem to flow into the brilliant paragraphs I had planned for them, and descriptions never build the picture the way it was drawn up in my head. I have never been entirely confident in my ability, probably for good reason. That said, I have always had a love hate relationship with writing; I can sit down and crank out a report on my high school’s basketball team in a half an hour, on the other hand I had to write limericks in my seventh grade English class and I am still working on them.
I have been very good at writing since third grade, when I wrote my first chapter book. As I grew older, I started to like writing about sports, but could never think of any good fiction story to create, opening the door to sports journalism, where I found my niche. I fueled together my passion of sports and writing and love it. The passion I have for sports really carries my writing to another level. I feel as if I could do great things in the sports media world some day, all the while loving my job.

About Writing Resources Writing Resources was designed to assist struggling writers in alternative placement facilities who may not have access to resources such as those found in an English Language Arts classroom or school library. The idea for this site came about from a Masters course I took in Library and Information Sciences called "Library Services for Youth in Custody". An assignment in this course called for an interview with an "expert in the field". Based on superficial knowledge of a program called the Transitional Learning Center affiliated with my local high school which provides off-campus educational services to at-risk youth, I opted to interview the director of the TLC and found he had a strong need for writing assistance.
I have always found writing hard but now I enjoy it more. I 'm not going to lie and say that it 's easy for me because it 's hard. I get lost with my thoughts a lot. What I say sounds way better then when I put it down on a paper. I have been wanting to write a small book of something.

Presentation 1 The first assignment was to prepare an informative speech about our personal experience. The time limit set was 3 minutes. No additional visual or printed material was required. The presentation, unfortunately, was delivered via WebEx platform, and not personally to the audience, which in my opinion has some negative impact on my performance.
