Informative Speech On Seat Belts

I believe that everybody who is a driver, and a passenger in a vehicle should put on a seat belt. When you are driving or even riding in a vehicle, putting on your seat belt will reduce you’re chance of death or serious injury, in case of a major accident. I decided on my topic choice after constantly watching friends and family members not fasten their seat belts while driving in a car. There still remain various amounts of individuals who believe fastening their seat belt is unnecessary. This pertains specifically to my audience because after vast amounts of research, I have found individuals between the ages of 18-25 continue to not wear their seat belts. The rate of deaths in car accidents has risen, and this should be very concerning to all individuals who ride in a vehicle.
3. How did you adapt your topic specifically for your audience?
After abundant research on this topic I found the individuals who lack to wear their seat belts are individuals between the ages of 18-24. Which is why this topic is important for college students to listen too. Compared to older drivers, young drivers and passengers are less probable to use seat belts. In my introduction I presented a video clip; while the clip played I conveyed the story of a young male driver not wearing his seat belt during a car accident. The desired outcome was to portray realistic stories of individuals who had passed away during car accidents from not wearing his or her seat belt. I also used graphic images of car accidents aftermath. I depicted statistics to portray how many people still continue to not wear his or her seat belt. I wanted to really emphasis on how important this topic was by portraying statistics, visuals, and stories. I should have moved my conclusion story towards the begging of my speech to truly grasp my audience’s
