At beginning of October, for the Integrative Group Project, group 8 was assembled, originally consisting of 8 members; David Cervini, Josh Galasso, Grant Gauthier, Keya Jaekel, Lisa Laku, Luting Liu, Chris Mousseau and Anika Tasnim who we’re all business students. Our group got off to a great start with one and another. As a group, we all agreed on which business organization we were going to research. Within a few days, we chose the Canadian National Railway Corporation. Our group wrote up a team contract and quickly started working and researching the Canadian National Rail Co. We used Facebook group chat as our main source of communication and created a Google Docs document so each member could add or edit information written inside. We met a few times during Phase 1 and worked in Leddy Library or online. However, like many groups, we did encounter minor setbacks, for example, not everyone was able to come to meetings, and often found conflict with the allocation of time to other midterms/exams while working on this project, which led to deadlines approaching quicker than expected. The approach group 8 undertook was going about and splitting up the various components that led up to the corporation's business structure and value creation, by researching and writing about that specific topic and then coming together to make it flow as a single research report. Unfortunately, after receiving our Phase 1 group project mark, our group quickly realized we did not completely follow the rubric on Phase 1 and as a result our group received a poor mark.
