For my business interview I had the pleasure of interviewing Surekha Singh who runs a successful beauty salon in Cypress. Surekha’s salon offers a range of makeup and hair services and her primary customer base continues to be people from the South Asian community. I was drawn to the Surekha story because of her admiral perseverance all throughout her journey as she faced challenges opening a business in a new country. Throughout this conversation, Singh shared experiences as an entrepreneur, including pros and cons of running a business, her best and worst experiences and her long term goals. As a future business owner I found her journey to be very inspirational.

She responded with how she enjoyed pursuing her passion and having financial independence along with it as definitely one of the upsides of being an entrepreneur. When asked about the downsides she responded with how she had to manage her household duties while running her business.
