Introductory Paragraph
Television is something people usually like to watch, and it mainly takes up all of their time. They do not have any time to mingle or talk with others.
The average child and teen between 8 to 18 years old will spend an average of four hours a day in front of a TV, computer, or even on their phone. When a kid wakes up in the morning, the first thing they do to start their day is go to school which is about an 8 hour average for most schools. Your average person typically needs 8 hours of sleep. So those two combined, you have already wasted 16 hours of your day. If you spend an extra 4 hours just watching tv, you only really have 4 hours left to socialize. But to be honest, you probably wouldn’t get out and socialize or go do something active in that time.

That variable alone is a huge impact on a child.
III. Second Body Paragraph
Children prefer to watch television and be on social media, not to mention, there are many children throughout the world who like to play sports and be active; but just not all of them do.
Personally, when I get home from school, I have so many options of what to do after school. I could read my favorite books, go play softball with my little brother, or even take my dog with me on adventures; on the flipside, I end up spending the rest of my day watching some of my favorite TV shows. It is what I prefer to do. Normally, I won’t do anything until I am finished with watching the media, and sometimes, I will even watch it on my phone. Nothing gets done when I watch television. I put aside homework, I ignore my family, and frequently, I don’t even want to go to my own job.
Kids of all ages have preferences similar to mine. Especially considering the amount of time spent watching television.
