In the book “Opening Skinner’s Box”, Lauren Slater discusses many complicated ideas relating to certain experiments of recent times. In every chapter, she focuses on one specific experiment and poses many controversial thoughts. One of the chapters I found most interesting was the second chapter titled “Obscura”. In it she walks readers through the experiments of Stanley Milgram and questions the purpose, results, usefulness, and morality of the experiments. To begin, the purpose of the experiments seem to be off to me.
Have you ever asked your mom if she’ll take you to this movie and she said no I don’t like stuff like that? That may be because having so many options and channels to watch divides audiences, maybe only boys like that movie or maybe only girls like that movie all because of there being so may channels and things to watch. If there was only three channels on your TV would you and your family watch TV together more often? Probably yes, because that is all there is to watch.

TV without Guilt by David Finkel focuses on the Delmar family’s relationship with TV. What I enjoyed about this article is how the family kept an open-mindedness about television. For example, “I mean without TV, who would exist? Just these middle-class people I see every day. I wouldn’t know anything else that goes on” (83).
In this society, working class are valued due to their hard work ethic, especially those working class who made a living by their sweat equity without a college education, because they struggled economically which also means not every working class can have that success . On the other hand working class are known as lazy people, failures, uneducated people. In the book Speak, written by Laurie Halse Anderson, Melinda Sordino, a 9th grader at Merryweather High School, called the cops during Kyle Rodger’s end-of-summer party. She had a good reason to call the cops, but because she busted the party, everyone at school hates her. She gets bullied all the time, and her ‘friends’ avoid her without trying to find out what happened. So, in the beginning of the book, Melinda is an outcast in the school. After a short time, Melinda meets Heather, who transferred from another school.

In 1924, he finally made progress when he transmitted a flickering image across the space of several feet, then in 1925, he created the first real television picture in grayscale, with the use of a ventriloquist 's dummy and then a human face. The TV was brought into the eyes of many people in 1926, when John Logie Baird presented the device in presence of 50 scientists. John’s main goal was to provide a new source of entertainment which can help bring families together.
