The author's primary goal is to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and feasibility of using an IOP approach to incorporate an evidence-based psychotherapy for individuals who present symptoms related to combat-related PTSD. The author developed two objectives to obtain this goal. The first objective is to incorporate TMT through an IOP format, to assess the acceptability and feasibility of the intervention/treatments and examine the TMT’s efficacy in the IOP format on the core and associated symptoms. The collection process featured elements of a quantitative study through several tests/assessments that presented measurable results/scores. The procedure for this was done systematically and through a scheduled routine. Although the tests/assessments were reliable, the validity of the test was outdated due to the new revision of the DSM from VI to V. The procedure presented qualitative elements in the matter of the post-treatment follow-ups, to assess the status of the individuals both three months and six months after the termination of the study. Data analysis of the study was both qualitative and quantitative, measuring the effect the study had on the symptoms of the individuals prior to and after the termination of the test as well as following up on the effectiveness the treatment has had on the individuals’ lives for a long period of time after termination of the study. To conclude the methodology, the methods used to practice the study, and choose participants for the study were qualitative. When assessing the study’s feasibility, there was no increase in suicidal thoughts, behaviors, ideations, or attempts. No participants were terminated from the program due to worsening symptoms. There were also no increases in substance use/abuse. This is helpful in pointing out the IOP structure does not cause an individual to present iatrogenic tendencies. When assessing the treatment acceptability and credibility, there was a significant rating of credibility and acceptability from participants. A third focus of the study, assessing treatment efficacy, only nine out of the 112 individuals did not complete post-treatment assessments.
