There is a variety of different sports, including cheerleading. Imagine playing a sport such as basketball or football, with nobody to cheer athletes on or motivate players to win. Most high schools with football or basketball teams also have cheerleaders. Whether cheerleading is a sport or not is a well known issue, likely to be discussed. The enthusiastic girls with pom-poms, white shoes, and skirts, those are cheerleaders. Cheerleading is a sport because cheer fits the definition of a sport, includes a team, and is not only on the sidelines. Cheer fits the definition of a sport. Cheerleading is not in the olympics, which consists of sports. If it does not have the qualities of a sport like being in the olympics, then it is not considered an actual sport. Just because cheerleading is not in the olympics, does not mean it is not sport. Not every sport is featured in the olympics, yet that does not mean that it is not a sport. Cheerleading does not involve ball. As most sports do, they play with a ball in order to win the competition. Cheerleading does not play with a ball, so there is no main point of the game such as in basketball you want to shoot a basket, football's touchdown, baseball's home run. Sports do not need ball in order to have a main point. In cheerleading you can still win and get points, though you are not contributing with a ball. Cheerleading does not use strategy to win. Like other sports have certain plays in order to fool the opposing team, they use their strategy to confuse and then beat the other team. Cheerleading does use strategy. They come up with a routine to the best of their abilities. They use strategy by being better than their opponents, figuring out how well their routine is and making it
