Based on the mural image "Going to the Olympics" by Frank Romero 's he was paid to create a work of art in the Los Angles free way. In my opinion I think its a work of art because this is a mural image and the time it and pride it took makes it a work of art. In his article, “Get tough on taggers”, Joseph F. Licastro argues that graffiti should not go unpunished and should be considered a crime. Licastro supports his argument by suggesting ways on how offenders should pay for the graffiti they do to our community. Some ways she suggested the offenders to pay is by clearing off the graffiti, buying their own equipment with their money, and putting a tracking device on them. His purpose is to make people see that graffiti is just like any other crime in order to have a harder punishment for

It can be the driving factor that helps you to reach your goals and more. Being able to live a life where you are content with what you have achieved. Artifact Description: Graffiti Painting—Use tools from a paint program to modify an image; create a fictional story with the image as the central character. What you learned: The first thing I learned from this project is that I did not have any type of painting software on my computer. Through google, I was able to find a free basic paint software for the Apple computer called Paintbrush. Since this was a new application for me, I learned how to use the different features of the software. There was also a learning process in downloading the assigned image from Canvas, in which I was to work with, and copying it into my paint software.

While reading “The Trouble with (the Term) Art,” written by Carolyn Dean in the summer of 2006, we are taken through an array of different scenarios that lead us to questions what art really is. Dean explores the idea that the word “art” is used far too often and too habitually, and that as we study the non-Western cultures we need to use much more discretion regarding what we call the different pieces of their culture. Throughout the essay, Dean supports her thesis that we too often categorize non-Western pieces as art by using different examples of how certain non-art pieces were deemed as art throughout the course of their history. Dean does this by using four key examples of how these ancient pieces are inappropriately called art to successfully support her thesis and avoid biases.
The Graffiti Debate was a challenging discussion for me. Some of the objects I found, I did not believe were pieces of art. The 2009 Graffiti Mural Project used a lot of color with the musical instruments and the people. I think it is incredible. Lee Quinones seems to do pretty dark matter for his murals, but some of his other artwork, is not so dark.

“No Trespassing.” It’s a message that we’ve all seen before, on street signs and on fences, but that most of us stopped considering as part of our daily lives. These signs just sort of blend into the background, no more noticeable than a crack in the sidewalk or a plain, solid-colored exterior wall. On the ordinary brown-painted brick backside of a bar in San Francisco’s Mission District, a bold, red No Trespassing sign is the center of a piece of thought-provoking street art. Below and to the right of the sign are some run-of-the-mill graffiti tags: pale yellow spray paint forming illegible words marking the territory of a gang or juvenile delinquent.
