A hero is "a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities"(Merriam-Webster), or a person who sacrifices their life for others. No one fits this description more than Jesus. Jesus exudes all of these expectations of a hero and much more. He is a hero because he overcame his unacceptance, sacrificed his life for everyone else's, and gave us a legacy to live up too. He was the perfect hero because he was perfect. No other hero can compare to him because he never made a mistake.
Jesus had to overcome a lot before he could become a hero. He had to overcome unacceptance. When Jesus was born King Herod heard and sent out the three wise men to find Jesus. The wise men went back and lied to Herod. Herod was scared of Jesus because great prophets said he was the "messiah" and would become king. He had to take the penalty for all of our sins and wrongdoings. He was the "perfect lamb" that took the punishment for all of our sins. As 1st John 3:5 says, "You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in him, there is no sin." In my second part of my definition of a hero, I said: "or a person who sacrifices their life for others". Jesus did exactly that. He had done nothing wrong, but he took the penalty for everything everybody else in the world had done wrong. Jesus could have easily said Father I do not want to do this and let us suffer, but he decided to let us have eternity with him and him to take the awful punishment. This represents a hero exactly. The crucifixion was not an easy death either. A crucifixion, according to Wikipedia, is the victim is tied or nailed to a large wooden beam and left to hang for several days until eventual death from exhaustion and asphyxiation.
