A theory of learning by J.Novack, “Meaningful learning underline the constructive integration of thinking, feeling, and acting leading to empowerment for commitment and responsibility.” This showed that meaningful learning is the key concept of the education, which students and teachers had to negotiate and integrate to know and fully understand the knowledge or fact. J.Novack, (2010), had also claimed that the central purpose of education is to empower learners to take a change of their own meaning making. Teachers are not only teacher, but they are an educator, facilitator, motivator, and leader. They had to meet the learner’s need in order to make learning take place because every learner has his/her own way of learning. The teacher has to prepare and plan the best method and strategy of teaching to best fit the student’s need. The teacher has to identify the type of learners and the styles of teaching that are most suitable and attractive for learners to learn. As stated by H.Ellington & S.Euarl (1999) that different people have different learning needs, which each of learner has his/her own individual knowledge, experiences, and resources to the learning process, and learn in different ways. The most important teacher has to realize the factors that influence teaching and learning effectively. S.Ghanaguru & P.B.Nair, (2015), have given four factors that affect the effectiveness of teaching and learning that are meaningful learning, active participation, positive feedback, and two-way interaction. Therefore, for a teacher to be the best educator which learning can take place is by knowing and understanding some of the teaching models. These teaching models can help and guide the teacher to frame and design his/her activities in the classroom effectively and meaningfully. There are four models of teaching had reviewed and criticized accordingly to suit and best fit the style of teaching and learning of …show more content…
These models are focusing on the human relations and social interaction, which help to build and develop the skills and aware of the personal and social values. These models enable learners to identify a problem and solve the problem according to the personal and social awareness and skills that they had acquired during the teaching and learning process. Social Learning models feature are the main emphasis on the group learning which each student has to interact, sharing, negotiating, cooperating and tolerating in working together in a group as learning communities. There are four types of models, which are popular use by teachers known as Cooperative Learning, Group Investigation, Role-playing, and Jurisprudential Inquiry. Each of these models of teaching has its own key concept, advantages and disadvantages, and similarities. The similarities of these models are the feature and the teachers’ role. In these models, teachers’ role are facilitating, guiding, motivating, and delegating. However, the key concept and the ways of application in each model are different. Cooperative Learning model is focusing on group learning that each member of the group participates in sharing knowledge. Teacher and students become co-partners in teaching and learning process which benefit one another in sharing, exploring, and integrating knowledge to expand and
