Jane Austen once said "It isn't what we say or think that defines us, but what we do." (Jane Austen quotes). Jane Austen actions defined her as we know her today. Jane Austen was a great writer but not always a great life. She was born December 16, 1775. In her household education and creative thinking was stressed. When she was older she was sent to boarding school to receive a formal education. Jane Austen was mostly known for her novels. Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, and Persuasion are some of her most famous works. To many, she was a heroine (Bloom). Jane was always adventurous and she put that into her novels. In one of her novels she said that without compassion we live a life with danger (Jane Austen quotes). …show more content…

According to elibrary, "Her writing is noted for its wit, realism, shrewd sympathy, and brilliant prose style". Jane was always very confident in her writing and never let anyone down with her wit. She was very creative with what she did and her optimism was the source if that creativity. Modern Critical Views: Jane Austen said that she psychologically designed her characters. She was not afraid to personalize and carefully craft her characters into who we know them as. Jane also dared to create characters and plots that weren't popular (Bloom). Her optimistic mind led her to believe that it didn’t matter if it was popular or not. People would still like her work. She was confident with her characters and even though others may have doubted her, she never changed (Bloom). At no time did Jane give up her writing even when she was criticized. Jane Austen went through some rough patches in life but she didn't stop writing. She had once said, “It is not time or opportunity that is to determine intimacy;—it is disposition alone. Seven years would be insufficient to make some people acquainted with each other, and seven days are more than enough for others.”. She never stopped doing what she loved and believed that no one should stop. At fifteen she was writing plays and sketches for the amusement of her family.
