“Only if we understand, will we care. Only if we care, we will help. Only if we help shall all be saved,” quoted by Jane Goodall (Jane Goodall: 40 Years at Gombe). Jane Goodall is an ethologist for chimpanzees, or someone who studies animal behavior, and was born April 3rd, 1934 in London, United Kingdom. This 81 year old still believes strongly in her work and encourages others to do their part to make the world a better place for people, animals, and the environment we all share (Goodall). Goodall’s interest in animals began early in her childhood. Jane would observe birds and animals in her spare time, taking notes and sketches of them. What’s even more exciting about these findings was that Jane found them all, just within her first four
