The Japanese were infamous for two reasons, The Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs, and Pearl Harbor. So, this paper is about the Japanese’s point of view during WW2. So in the beginning, the Japanese wanted to conquer more land. So after waging a war on China on July 7, 1937. They formed an alliance with the Axis Powers so that if they got attacked by a country that wasn’t already involved in the war, they would receive help. But when the US moved the Pacific Fleet from CA to Pearl Harbor, the Japanese saw it as a threat. The Japanese took over China, but the US didn’t approve so the US decided to put sanctions on Japan. So when the US moved their fleets to Pearl Harbor, the Japanese saw it as a threat and decided to launch an attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. They wanted the element of surprise and to knock out all of the US ships so that the fleets wouldn’t interfere with the Japanese’s quest for taking over the Indie-Malaysia regions. On July 18, 1945. They tested bombs at the Trinity site in Alamogordo, New Mexico. “Little Boy” weighed 9,000 pounds and was dropped on Hiroshima at 8:15 AM and It killed 80,000 people. The “Little Boy” bomb didn’t result in an immediate surrender from Japan, so at 11:02 AM, “Fat Man” was dropped on Nagasaki. “Fat Man” weighed 10,000 pounds. A whole 1,000 pounds more than “Little Boy” did. “Fat Man” killed 40,000 people. Even though “Fat Man” weighed more and would’ve killed more people, it exploded before it landed so the explosion wasn’t as strong.
