Jeffrey Dahmer’s behaviors were “primary unconscious feelings of hate that he had channeled into a sadistic programmed destruction of 17 young men” (Jentzen et al. 2). The man he killed was walking on the side of the road, so Dahmer picked him up and drove him to his home with plans to have sex with the stranger. The stranger refused to have sex with him which made Dahmer angry so he proceeded to strangle to man to death and had sex with his corpse. It doesn’t stop there though, Dahmer kept the body because he couldn’t stand to be lonely. After this murder, he didn’t want to stop and he started to save body parts of his victims in order to remember the experience and gain pleasure. After graduating high school which was prior to the killing, Dahmer continued his education and attended Ohio State University briefly. After just one semester, he dropped out due to his drinking problem which led him to joining the army. In the army, he served as a combat medic and was stationed in Germany. There is no information on if he claimed any victims while there but it is very likely. After only 2 years of service, Dahmer was discharged due to his severe drinking problem which led him to moving to his grandma’s house in Milwaukee. Dahmer had a pretty long cool off time until he struck again in 1987 which was nine years after his first murder. His second victim was 24-year-old Steven Toumi, Jeffrey met him at a nightclub and conversed with him, later on he convinced Steven to spend the night in his hotel room which was a terrible idea. Once in the room Jeffrey gave Steven a drink that he made which contained multiple crushed up sleeping pills. Dahmer woke up the next morning with no recollection of any events that went down the night before. But, lying next to him was Stevens dead body and it unclear exactly what went down but, reported injuries ranged from just a bruise on his chest to his chest being split open.
