With over 8 million members, the Jehovah Witnesses proclaim the name of their God, Jehovah, by evangelizing around the globe. Much larger, the Catholic religion is one the world's older religions, dating back almost 2 millennium. Though followers of both beliefs claim to be Christians, they have different notions regarding salvation. The former believe that salvation can attained on earth or heaven by following Jesus' teachings and partaking in ministry work; however, the latter believe that salvation can achieved in heaven through sacraments and by abstaining from mortal sin. During the same time period, God's people will be brought back from the dead to live on earth, and suffering will be brought to an end. Since Jehovah's Witnesses believe Jehovah judges the "heart", even some of those who had never heard of him will be brought back to live on the earth. Within the 1,000 year trial, those on the earth will be able to choose whether or not they will continually obey Jehovah. At the end of the the time period, Jesus will conduct a final judgment, granting pardon to those who love Jehovah. Eliminating sickness, aging, and death, Jesus will allow all those who obey Jehovah to live in the earthly paradise eternally; the rest of the remaining nonbelievers will eternally destroyed. As the 'anointed' ones, "the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth" are those who "follow the Lamb whereever he goes." (Revelation 14: 3-4, KJV). Alleging that many of the 144,000 are already in heaven, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the remaining anointed ones will be resurrected into heaven instantaneously after death. Contrary to Catholicism, which believes that all those who achieve eternal salvation abide in heaven, Jehovah's Witnesses assert only a set amount of people are destined to achieve salvation in heaven. This belief, that exactly 144,000 anointed ones go to heaven whereas the rest of those saved reside forever on an earthly paradise, is a key distinction that seperates the religion from Catholicism and many of the other major world
