Joanne Rowling is a successful writer. She is 51 years old, and a former billionaire, current millionaire. She was very interested in writing from a young age, and so when she thought up the idea of the Harry Potter series, she was excited to write it. The idea came to her in 1990, and she finished the first book in December of 1993. She was in her mid-twenties, and had a daughter, Jessica, with her first husband. She was turned down by thirteen different publishers, and when a tiny publishing company agreed to take her on, they warned her that she should continuing training to become a teacher, as children’s books don’t tend to bring in much money.
