This post is going to be on an extremely important topic, diabetes. 1 in 4 people with diabetes, don’t even know they have it! This topic truly impacted me because both of my grandfathers that have already passed away had diabetes, so honestly diabetes is something that could be in my future. Recently, I read Sugar Nation by Jim O’Connell and I was pretty shocked from reading it and it opened my eyes to how severe the diabetes problem is in the world. The book is basically Mr. O’Connell’s recollection of being diagnosed pre-diabetic, his journey to find more information on treatment and how effective it is, and Mr. O’Connell’s father passing away from not taking care of his diabetes.

He wanted people to use their individual conscience, and stick with their firm beliefs. The line, “You may say I 'm a dreamer, But I 'm not the only one,” exemplifies individualism because although people are against his optimistic views, he sticks true to his heart and he knows others feel the same way too. Lennon also believed that divinity should be present not just in religious institutions. The line, “And no religion too, Imagine all the people, living life in peace.”

They served as examples and leaders not only to the hippies and other youth movements, but also to the youth of society in general. The Beatles and their music redefined the rules of society.
Imagine by John Lennon under his album Imagine brings a vision of hope to listeners; an idea that becomes a possibility. Who would have thought that the world could get along? Throughout the song peace is shown to be something that can be accomplished if only we could overcome our selfish desires. Throughout the song he refers to religion, culture divide, and greed. When listening to the song the tone is very sanguine.
