Jonas changes dramatically throughout the book by three major changes. First, one of the changes Jonas goes through is him not being able to talk to his friends about his new job as the Receiver of Memory. This moment puts an awkward barrier between Jonas, Asher, and Fiona. In other words, Jonas is going to be the odd one out from the world.
