CHAPTER ONE The Schutzstaffel Hitler 's reign of power in Germany began January 30, 1933. This was to be the beginning of one of the darkest chapters in modern history. The Schutzstaffel or what is commonly referred to as the SS, was primarily established as a protection squadron and known throughout Nazi Germany as the Black Shirts. The SS was a central organization within the Third Reich 's power structure.
He and a group of other Jewish survivors managed to be traded out of a concentration camp in a prisoner exchange. After leaving Dachau, the concentration camp, on a train. The people of the country were angry and impatient and feared that their parliament was too weak to rectify the economic situation.

Hitler’s plan was to gather all Jewish people and exterminate them in the concentration camps. Hitler couldn’t get rid of all degenerates to his “perfect race” alone, so he had hired other perpetrators, including Himmler, to help carry out his motive. Heinrich Himmler’s point of view was a perpetrator because he was commander of Hitler’s SS guards, the Gestapo, and head of all concentration camps during the Holocaust.

While Mengele did seem like he would have had a tough terrible life growing up, that would have molded him into the monster he became, he had the opposite. The entire German population had become crazed as they were trying to make money in order to purchase food and other basic necessities.
